The owners of this apartment in the Flowerbox Building – one of NYC’s modern architectural gems – hired Gallery for two bathroom renovations: the master suite and guest. The goal was to make each space their own, a step (or three) up from the developer-grade materials that originally furnished the apartment. While the main focus was the very particular new looks of the bathrooms, some of the kitchen cabinets were also upgraded to provide much-needed contrast in that space.
The process in this Manhattan bathroom renovation was highly collaborative, with really specific material selections. The apartments in the Flowerbox Building feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows which overlook a beautiful city park. Right around the corner is a busy NYC street, but if you’re sitting on the balcony or even in your bedroom gazing out the back window, a tranquil park greets you. This view provided the inspiration for the spa-like atmosphere cultivated in the master bath, brought to life with two different types of marble and a completely custom, one-of-a-kind sink. In the guest bathroom, glazed porcelain tiles designed to resemble sheets of aged metal and a futuristic mirror create a mood that is unconventional and forward-thinking yet still accessible.
